While the process of founding UEMR was extensive, UEMR began first providing services in the Fall 2017 semester. During this time, UEMR was present at special events only and responded to no emergency calls outside of those originating at events.
During the Spring 2018 semester, UEMR started providing 911 coverage of emergency medical services. UEMR began responding to all medical calls, emergent or nonemergent, 7.5 hours a day / 5 days a week (Monday - Friday). In August of 2018, UEMR expanded this coverage to 24 hours a day / 5 days a week (Monday - Friday), and further expanded this coverage to 24 hours a day / 7 days a week in October of 2018. Since the start of the Fall 2018 semester, UEMR has responded to hundreds of medical calls on campus.
Going 24/7 has allowed for a safer environment for the students, faculty, and visitors of the University, and UEMR consistently arrives to emergencies within minutes to provide quality patient care.
